Taking the Knowledge Agenda for Sustainable Urban Development a step forward

During 2015 the Swedish cities Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö collectively developed a common knowledge agenda for sustainable urban development. It covers challenges and knowledge gaps within the field of urban development. One of the results from the work with the Knowledge Agenda for Sustainable Urban Development is the Swedish governments new research bill, which have a strong focus on urban issues. This is off course a result which many different actors have contributed to.

The report outlines four central societal changes Urbanisation, migration and segregation, the Restructuring of the economy, Social polarisation and cohesion and Climate change.

These have now been developed further in three Working papers the National perspective written by Julia Fredriksson and Kerstin Elias, SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden, Social polarisation and cohesion written by Helen Arfvidsson, University of Gothenburg and Climate change written by Philip Thörn, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute.
