On 17th May staff from SLU, Helsingborg Stad, Movium and Malmö Stad met for a workshop to discuss the project “The Ecosystem Service City” . The workshop looked at the potential to data mine social media to help cities better understand and plan for use of Urban Green Space. The meeting considered that there were many potential benefits from doing so, but also highlighted ethical and legal issues. The Ecosystem Service City project is developing a tool which will help planner’s access strategic knowledge from social media data, while ensuring that citizen’s privacy is protected.
The project “The Ecosystem Service City” is funded by MISTRA Urban Futures Skåne Platform.
